Forno 31, the best bakery in town

We were not looking for it, we were looking for the best pasticciotti and Apulian focaccia in Ostuni, when the Forno 31 found us.

This characteristic bakery has an original 15th-century wood-fired oven, which is huge. The bakers use 2+ meters long oven shovels to reach all the delicacies they let in baking.

We were so amazed we couldn’t even focus on the bakeries. Until we did, and we bought basically everything that was left.

Started from the most typical pasticciotti, a pastry filled with custard cream, or chocolate cream, or cream and sour cherries, pistachio cream, in short, every delicious fillings you can think about!

Then we bough some zeppole di San Giuseppe, also pastries and filled with custard cream. At the Forno 31 you find any type of biscuits, muffins and tarts. Those pastries are simply perfect for breakfast together with a latte.

The Forno 31 has also the best focaccia, bread, Apulian taralli, friselle and much more. This is definitely our favourite bakery in town and a must visit place for every tourist.
